Meet Us; The Garden Path Flowers

Updated: Feb 5, 2021

Hello! I'm Marianne! With my mom Carol by my side, together we created Garden Path Flowers, and have been flower farming going on 25 years. I know what you're thinking... neither of us look old enough to have been doing this for that long... and you're right! I started pulling weeds, cutting flowers, and designing bouquets before I had mastered long division. We started when I was so young that I can't remember what my life was like before our flower business started. There have been many ups and downs throughout the years, but we have been incredibly lucky to have each other, and to have had many more ups than downs.

Our business started as a small hobby. My mom always had a love for flowers and talent for bouquet designing, and one day we decided to sell a few pails of zinnias and asters and other assorted flowers at our local market (the St. Norbert Farmers' Market). We had a great day and couldn't believe that people would pay for our little flowers. From there the business grew and the garden grew each year until we had not only maximized the space in which we could grow flowers, but also had maximized the amount of time we had available to grow them. We have been supported throughout the years by my dad Rudy. He's been the go to guy when we needed water, or to fix the tiller, or an extra hand setting up at the market and so many other things. He's the behind the scenes guy that we could never have done without and are so grateful for.

My mom and I have a deep love for flowers. We love being able to watch things grow, nurture them along the way, and then harvest them to create a beautiful bouquet. However what we love even more than the flowers themselves is the friendships that flowers have brought us, and the ability that flowers have to connect us to our community.

Thank you for stopping by! We hope that this is the first of many posts you'll see from us in the future. Check back with us soon to learn more about gardening, flower farming, and creating beautiful bouquets.
