April Showers

Updated: Feb 5, 2021

We all know the saying... April Showers bring May flowers. For us here in Manitoba we will be lucky if we get any May flowers. Our Double flowering plum is usually the first to bloom, and after a long winter, it is an incredible sight. This year, April showers were also known as April snow storms. We had some very cold days, and too many snow flakes if you ask me. As we now move from April to May, the days are getting warmer and longer, the birds are chirping, the frogs are croaking, and we look to this season with anticipation and hope.

There is so much going on in the world around us, and although there is so much out of our control in these times, we are filled with peace knowing that we have so much to be thankful for, and have a maker that is always fully in control.

Right now we are busy in the greenhouse nursing our little plants that only a few short weeks from now will be planted outside. We are also busy preparing the gardens and planning for the weeks ahead. Last week we saw our first tulips emerge from the ground, and this week we will be seeding the cool loving flowers directly into our garden. There is so much to look forward to! It is our hope that you too are looking forward to what this next season will bring, and although April felt like showers in so many ways, just remember that those showers bring flowers.
